VE Testing

VE testing at Ham-Com is provided by Lockheed ARC and Kilocycle Club of Fort Worth and the ARRL.

Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Lockheed ARC and the Kilocycle Club of Fort Worth will provide testing for all classes of amateur radio licenses. The exams will be conducted under the ARRL program. Exams will be held in the meeting rooms at the Plano Center. The exam sessions are open to all, no pre-registration is necessary.

Walk-ins are welcome anytime during the testing sessions. Please help your volunteer examiners and others taking exams by being prepared for your exam.

Identification requirements for testing:

  • You must have a picture ID.
  • You must also know your Social Security Number.

Upgrades:

  • You must have your original license and CSCE’S.
  • You must have copies of your license, CSCE’S and Photo ID for us to keep.

Please have the exact change for the $15.00 exam fee. Bring a blue or black pen, and if necessary, a calculator with memory cleared. Please allow a couple of hours for testing and completing paperwork. Do not bring a completed form 605, they will be provided and must be signed at the exam session.

NOTICE: Exam results are not final until we file the test session with the VEC. We make every effort to do everything correctly at the test session, but mistakes can be made.

Emergency Communication Course (EMCOMM) Test Sessions

Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Lockheed ARC and the Kilocycle Club of Fort Worth will provide Emcomm testing for the ARRL Emergency Communication Level 1 only*. Please note that the exams will be held in the meeting rooms at the Plano Center. The exam sessions are open to all, no pre-registration is necessary.

Walk-ins are welcome anytime during the testing sessions. Please help your certified examiner by being prepared for your exam.  

* Per the ARRL, the Level 3 course will be revised to become a new Advanced Emergency Communications course which will replace both the current Level 2 and Level 3 courses.  Release for this course is expected to be the last quarter of 2009. 
 
Students who have previously taken the Level 2 course will need to have the new Advanced course to complete the current Amateur Radio Emergency Communications training program.  Those who have completed the Level 1 course may progress directly to the Advanced course when available, which will contain content formerly included in the former Level 2 and 3 courses.  For the time being, the Basic Level 1 course will continue to be offered in its current format.

  • Please have the exact change for the $15.00 exam fee.
  • Bring a blue or black pen, and if necessary, a calculator with memory cleared. Please allow at least two (2) hours for testing and completion of paperwork.
